If a guardian is having trouble using Extended Rules on their child’s school-managed device, it may be one of the following reasons.
Before you begin
- You must have permission to manage Linewize Parent.
Check School Calendar is set up correctly
Ensure your school's calendar settings in Linewize Filter are set up with accurate school hours and non-school days.
Check Extended Rules are set up correctly
Ensure the Extended Rules settings in the Parent configuration are turned on and properly configured.
Check student is not on an exclusion list
Ensure the student hasn't been added to an exclusion list for Extended Rules .
Check student and guardian are linked
Ensure the student and their guardian are linked correctly in Linewize Filter .
Check student is not restricted from being connected to guardian
Ensure the student is not restricted from being connected to their guardian .
Check guardian has not opted into Extended Rules in the app, or has opted out by mistake
Ask the guardian to check their Qustodio app settings to confirm they have accepted and turned on Extended Rules . Guide them through turning on Extended Rules if needed.
Check student has the correct version of Connect
Ensure the student has the correct Linewize Connect extension or Connect for Windows on their device:
- Connect for Chrome v3.2.1+
- Connect for Windows v4.2.0+
Check if Parent has been deployed on the student’s device correctly
Ensure that Parent has been deployed onto the student's device .
