Modify parent and guardian information in Linewize Parent

Parent Management in Linewize Filter allows you to modify the existing details of guardians of students at your school.

There are two ways to modify guardian information:

1. Update in the School Information System (SIS).
2. Update the local profile.

Before you begin

• You must have permission to manage Linewize Parent.

Update Guardian Information in your SIS

Use this method to modify guardian data if your school uses OneRoster, Classlink, SchoolDay (formerly GG4L), Clever or Wonde. You must update your SIS database otherwise, your changes will be undone the next time your SIS syncs with Linewize Filter.

1. Log in to your SIS and follow your vendor’s instructions to update the guardian’s information.
2. Wait for the next scheduled sync, or manually sync your platform with Linewize Filter:
   
   • Manual Sync with OneRoster, Classlink, SchoolDay or Wonde:
     • Go to Configuration > Authentication > SIS Integration.
     • Select Sync for the OneRoster, ClassLink or SchoolDay system.
   • Manual Sync with Clever
     • Go to Configuration > Authentication > Clever.
     • Select Sync.

Sync Statuses

If the sync is successful, guardian details will update in each student's Manage User Parent Details section. If the sync shows partial success or failure, contact Linewize Support for help. You can check the Last Sync and Sync Status on the SIS Integration or Clever page in Linewize Filter.

Update the Local Profile

You can use Linewize Filter to modify guardian records that you manually created.

Modify a Locally Managed Parent

1. Go to Configuration > Users and Groups > Users.
2. Search for the correct student, Select View (eye icon).
3. Under Parent Details on the student’s Manage User page, select Edit Details (edit pencil icon).
4. Enter the guardian's changed details in the Edit Parent Details dialog.
5. Select Save.
