Removing guardians in Linewize Filter breaks the connection to students. To restore access to Activity Summary and Pause Internet, you must resync or reupload guardian data. If the connection is not restored within 60 days, guardians must be reconnected to the student.
Adding a guardian in Linewize Parent links them to a student at your school. This lets the guardian connect using Qustodio and access an overview of the student’s activity on school-managed devices, along with Parent features that have been turned on, such as Pause Internet or Extended Rules.
You can remove guardians from students using your School Information System (SIS), which prevents them from connecting to the student. This is useful for correcting data errors or reflecting changes in family circumstances.
If you don’t use SIS syncing, prepare an updated guardian list including any new students and contact Linewize Support to delete and upload your data again.
Alternatively, you can restrict a guardian instead of removing them. Restricting blocks an existing connection to a student, while removing prevents any future connection.
The removal method depends on how you upload the guardian and student data into Linewize Filter.

- You must have permission to manage Linewize Parent.
Remove Guardian through SIS sync
If you sync guardian and student information into Linewize Filter through a SIS, you must change their details in your SIS and sync again with Linewize Filter.

Important
Only use the manual method if you add guardian data to Linewize Filter through CSV or manual entry. If you use a SIS, you must change their details in your SIS and sync again with Linewize Filter.
- Go to Linewize Filter > Configuration > Users and Groups > Users.
- Select Search and enter the student’s name or email address.
- Select the student.
- Select Remove Parent.
- A confirmation window will appear, select Remove.
Remove Guardian from Parent Management
For guardians uploaded by CSV file or locally managed:
- Individual Guardian Removal: Contact Linewize Support to delete an individual guardian from Linewize Filter.
- Bulk Removal: Prepare a new CSV with the updated guardian list and contact Linewize Support to delete the existing data and upload the new CSV file.
