Sync Wonde with Linewize Filter

Syncing your Wonde School Information System (SIS) with Linewize Filter ensures your school’s student, teacher, and classroom data is correct and current.

Before you begin

  1. Contact Linewize Support to generate a School ID and Access Token.
  2. Ensure the SIS username and SIS teacher email fields match your Wonde setup.
    See Wonde - API Reference details.
  3. Schedule time outside school hours to complete this process. The initial Wonde sync may take up to four hours.

Set up the Wonde sync

  1. Go to Configuration > Authentication > SIS Integration.
  2. Select Add New, then select Wonde. The Add Wonde Sync dialog will appear.
  3. Complete the following:
Field Description
Name Enter the name of the Wonde sync.
Access Token Use the token provided by Linewize Support.
Domain

For schools in Australia and New Zealand, select
api-ap-southeast-2.wonde.com

For schools in South Africa, select
api-af-south-a.wonde.com

For schools in the UK and the rest of the world, select
api.wonde.com
School ID Use the ID provided by Linewize Support.
SIS Student Email

Select from:

  • Work
  • Email
  • Primary
  • Home
SIS Student Username

Select from:

  • active_directory_username: The Active Directory username used to identify the student.
  • mis_id: The ID that Wonde refers to an object within the source MIS.
  • username: The username of the student in Wonde.
(Optional) Sync Classrooms

Sync Classroom Data is turned on by default. Turn it off only if you don’t want to sync classrooms and classroom relationships.

Class Name

Select from:

  • class.subject.data.code - class.description
  • class.code - class.description

SIS Teacher Email

Select from:

  • Work
  • Email
  • Primary
  • Home

SIS Teacher Username

Select from: 

  • None (Optional)
  • username: The username of the teacher in Wonde.
  • active_directory_username: The Active Directory username used to identify the teacher.
(Optional) Sync Parent Data

Select this option to sync Parent Data. This syncs the parent contact details and their relationship with the students.

Guardian Email

Select from:

  • Work
  • Email
  • Primary
  • Home

Contact Type

Select from:

  • Lives with Pupil
  • Parental Responsibility
  • Correspondence.
  1. Select Submit. The Wonde integration will appear in the list.
  2. Select Sync.

 

Sync Status

Select View Log to view sync status details:

  •  
    • A failed sync will show an error code. Contact Linewize Support with the error code for assistance.
    • A successful sync will show Sync Started, Sync Finished, Classrooms Unchanged, Classrooms Added, Classrooms Deleted, Classroom Updated, Guardians Unchanged, Guardians Added, Guardians Deleted, Guardians Updated, Users Added to Classrooms, Users Removed from Classrooms, Users Added to Guardians and Users Removed from Guardians.

Sync Schedule

After the initial manual sync, Linewize Filter syncs nightly depending on your region.

  • US region: syncs start at 6:00 PM US Central Time (UTC-5).
  • AU region: syncs start at 6:00 PM Australian Western Standard Time (UTC+8).
  • NZ region: syncs start at 6:00 PM New Zealand Standard Time (UTC+12).
  • UK region: syncs start at 6:00 PM (UTC).

A device's sync may start any time between 6:00 PM in that region and 12 hours later, depending on previous sync times from other devices.

Sync manually

You can manually run a sync to propagate changes before the automatic sync period.

  1. Go to Configuration > Authentication > SIS Integration.
  2. Select Sync for the relevant Wonde integration.
