Groups Overview

Groups let you manage access and filter users. Use them to:

• Allow or block websites for specific users.
• Control access to users in Linewize Filter.
• Bypass filtering for staff.
• Manage who appears in Community reports.
• Share student timelines with guardians.
• Assign teachers to Classwize classes.
• Restrict Classwize features to specific users.

You can add groups to Linewize Filter in two ways:

1. Sync Groups from your School Directory:
   Syncing groups will ensure Linewize Filter reflects your latest school data, but you can’t edit groups in Linewize Filter.
2. Manually add Local Groups in Linewize Filter:
   You can manually create and edit groups for temporary or urgent use and combine them with multiple Synced Groups.
