Set up Companion Mode

Companion Mode integrates Connect for Windows and browser extensions (Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge) to enhance the filtering and Classroom Management features available to Windows devices.

Before you begin

  1. You must have managed Windows devices.
  2. Your devices meet the Linewize Connect Minimum System Requirements.
  3. You must set up bypassing for internal DNS domains.

Set Companion Mode

  1. In School Manager, go to Configuration > Mobile Agent.
  2. In the On School Manager Network and Off School Manager Network sections, Select COMPANION from the Default Filtering Mode dropdown.
  3. Select Save.

Deploy Linewize Connect

Once Companion mode is on, use your preferred deployment method to deploy the Connect for Windows app, authentication agent and the Connect browser extension for Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
