Using Red Flags with other reporting tools can help better evaluate a user’s wellbeing and risk level. You should investigate the cause of a Red Flag before taking any action with a user, as there might be other reasons for the user’s behaviour.
Check Red Flags
From the Statistics Dashboard
The Statistics Dashboard shows a summary of Red Flags for your school. You can select a Red Flag tag to see it in context for that user or select View All on the Red Flags section to open the Red Flags page.
Note
If you can’t see Red Flags on your Linewize Filter Dashboard, try turning off your ad blocker.
From the Red Flags page
To see a list of all Red Flags within a certain time period:
- Go to Cyber Safety > Red Flags.
- Use the date picker in the top-right corner to set a time period.
- Use the Select filter tag dropdown to check for specific Red Flag types.
To find a specific student, enter part of their Username or Full Name in the Search field.
The Red Flags table shows:
- Username - The user’s username in Linewize Filter.
- Full Name - The user’s full name from your school’s records.
- Risk Indicators - Red Flag categories that match the content the user tried to access.
Select a Red Flag from the Risk Indicators section to show further details.
Investigate Red Flag details
Depending on the type of Red Flag you select, you’ll see different views:
- Websites/Web activity (Globe icon): Shows the dates and the number of times the user triggered the Red Flag on that day (Hits). Select a date to see the User Timeline, which shows the website or web address that triggered each Red Flag on that day.
- Searches (Magnifying Glass icon): Shows the user’s Search History, including all search terms that match the Red Flag category within the set time period. In the View in Context section, select View to see the User Journey , which shows the user’s activity before and after they made the search.
Tip
You can export the User Timeline and User Journey as a report for your records.
Exporting Red Flag data
Select Export Report to export Red Flag data for the set time period. To export all Red Flag data, select Reset Filters first, as the report only includes data that matches your current filters.
