Organizing your policy set when creating Content Filtering Policies in Linewize Filter makes managing your filtering policies easier. The URL to Object List tool helps you create streamlined policies by telling you when a policy contains eight or more URLs and allowing you to convert those URLs into an Object List.
Convert URLs to an Object List
- A notification will appear above the Type dropdown on the Create Policy and Edit Policy windows when you enter eight or more URLs into a Content Filtering Policy .
Note
Signatures and Categories are not counted.
- On the notification, select Create Object List. The URL to Object List Converter adds all URLs to a new Object List.
- For the Name:
- By default, the URL to Object List Converter inherits the name of the saved Filtering Policy.
- If the Filtering Policy has a name, the Object List uses the same name and adds “- Website Object List”.
- If the policy is unnamed, the Object List uses “- Website Object List” as its title.
- Select the field to edit the name.
- (Optional) Enter a Description.
- To add more URLs, enter them in the Value field.
- Select Create Object List to add it to the Content Filtering Policy. A confirmation message appears once the Object List is successfully created.
- Continue editing the policy, then select Save Policy.
Tip
You can ignore the notification and continue manually entering URLs or domains into the Content Filtering Policy. However, Linewize Filter will display the notification again if you edit the policy later.
