When Sophos is running endpoint protection on devices, it prevents the Connect extension from communicating with Connect for Windows, causing a “configuration missing” error.
To fix this issue, you must configure web control, threat protection, and decryption exclusion policies for Linewize in Sophos Central.
Before you begin
- You must have Administrator access in Sophos Central.
- You must be a Linewize Connect Administrator.
- Check your Sophos Endpoint version.
Configure Linewize in Sophos Central
1: Add Linewize to the Website Management list
- Sign in as Administrator in Sophos Central.

Add Linewize to the Website Management list with the following details:
- linewize.net
- 127.0.0.1
- (Optional) Select your preferred Category override.
- Tag the new site as Linewize.
- Select Save.
2: Create a Web Control policy

Create a Web Control policy based on your version of Sophos Endpoint:
- Web profile policies for Windows devices running Sophos Endpoint 2026.1 or later.
- Classic settings for Windows (and macOS) devices running Sophos Endpoint 2025.2.3.8 or earlier.
- Ensure Action is set to Allowed.
- Select Save.
3: Create a Threat Protection policy
- Create a Threat Protection Policy.
- Add the following exclusions:
- Exclusion Type: Website (Windows/Mac) and Value: linewize.net
- Exclusion Type: Website (Windows/Mac) and Value: 127.0.0.1
- Select Save.
4: Configure the SSL/TLS Decryption of HTTPS Websites
- Go to Global Settings > Protection and Remediation > Web Settings.
- Add an exclusion for SSL/TLS decryption of HTTPS websites for linewize.net.
- Select Save.
