Deploy Windows ADMX Templates for authentication using GPO

This article explains how to deploy the Windows and Qoria ADMX templates using GPO. This applies to schools using Connect for Windows 5.1.0 or later.

Before you begin

  1. You must have access to Agent Downloads in Linewize Filter.
  2. You must have administrator access to GPO.

Deploy the Windows ADMX template

  Important

Install the Windows ADMX files first before deploying Qoria ADMX.

  1. Check whether Windows ADMX is already installed.
    1. Check C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions for the ADMX files
    2. Check C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions\en-US for the ADML files.
  2. Add the ADMX files to: \\<your_domain>\sysvol\<your_domain>\Policies\PolicyDefinitions
  3. Add the ADML files to: \\<your_domain>\sysvol\<your_domain>\Policies\PolicyDefinitions\en-US

Deploy the Qoria ADMX template

  1. In Linewize Filter, go to Configuration > Agents Download.
  2. Select Download ADMX.
  3. Add the Qoria ADMX file to: \\<your_domain>\sysvol\<your_domain>\Policies\PolicyDefinitions
  4. Add the Qoria ADML file to: \\<your_domain>\sysvol\<your_domain>\Policies\PolicyDefinitions\en-US
  5. Open Group Policy Management.
  6. Expand your chosen Forest and Domain.
  7. Right-click on Group Policy Objects and select New.
  8. Enter a name for the new GPO, then select OK.
  9. Right-click the new GPO, then select Edit.
  10. Go to Computer Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates.
  11. Go to Qoria > Application.
  12. Select each setting, turn it on, and enter the required value. You can copy the Device ID or Pre-shared Key from Linewize Filter by going to Configuration > Agent Downloads, then selecting Copy Device ID or Copy Preshared Key.
    1. Device ID: Add your school’s Linewize Filter Device ID. If your school uses Multi-Device Management, enter only the Parent Device ID.
    2. Device Region: Select the region associated with your Linewize Filter Appliance from the dropdown.
    3. Pre-shared Key: Add your school’s Linewize Filter Device Key.
  13. Close the Group Policy Management Editor after changing all settings.
  14. Link the GPO to your managed devices. The changes will deploy to the appropriate devices and users on your network.
