To check if the Connect for Chrome extension is installed in Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, confirm it's on the device or check through a management platform or group policy.
1. Check on the device
Google Chrome
- Open Chrome.
- Select the puzzle piece icon on the toolbar.
- Check that the Linewize Connect extension is listed and turned on.
Microsoft Edge
- Open Edge.
- Select the puzzle piece icon on the toolbar.
- Check that the Linewize Connect extension is listed and turned on.
2. Check using a Management Platform or Group Policy
Google Workspace
- Sign in to Google Admin Console.
- Go to Devices > Chrome > Apps & extensions > Users & browsers.
- Confirm the Linewize Connect extension is listed and Force-installed.
Microsoft Intune
- Sign in to Microsoft Intune admin center.
- Go to Devices > Configuration profiles.
- Open the profile applied to student devices.
- Under Configuration settings, look for Chrome or Edge Extension/App IDs and update URLs to be silently installed (Device) settings.
- Confirm that the Connect for Chrome extension ID appears.
Group Policy (GPO)
- Open the Group Policy Management Console on a Windows Server:

For Google Chrome
Go to Computer Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > Google > Google Chrome > Extensions > Configure the list of force-installed extensions.

For Microsoft Edge
Go to Computer Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > Microsoft Edge > Extensions > Control which extensions are installed silently.

- Confirm the Connect for Chrome extension ID is included.
