Archive a Local Group

You can archive a Local Group to turn it off without deleting it, allowing future use if needed. To avoid errors, turn off or remove any linked policies first.

You can't archive Synced Groups in Linewize Filter. Instead, you must archive the group in your School Directory and then sync with Linewize Filter.

Step 1: Remove or turn off Policies using the Group

  1. Go to Filtering > Content Filtering.
  2. Find any policy that includes the group.

You can either: 

Option Instructions
Turn off the policy (to reuse later)
  1. Toggle the Enable checkbox to turn off the policy.
Remove the group from the policy
  1. Select the Edit (Pencil) icon.
  2. Select the X next to the group name.
  3. Select Save Policy.
Delete the policy (if no longer needed)
  1. Select the Delete (Trash) icon.
  2. Select Delete Policy.

 

Step 2: Archive the Group

Info

Archived groups can be restored later if needed.

  1. Go to Configuration > Users and Groups > Groups.
  2. Find the group, then select the Delete (Trash) icon. The Archive Group dialog will appear. Select Archive Group.
