This article is for IT Support.

If your school uses Google Chrome on Windows devices and Microsoft Intune to manage its school devices, this guide will help you deploy the Connect app, Authentication agent, and Connect extension for Companion Mode.

Before you begin

  • Set up Companion Mode.
  • Assign the devices to a Microsoft Intune group or use an existing group.
  • Download the Connect for Windows .msi file from School Manager by going to Configuration > Agents Download, then select Download for Windows (.msi) for school IT admins.
  • Contact Linewize Support for your school’s Authentication Agent file.
  • Copy and note your Download URL from School Manager by going to Configuration > Agents Download, then select Copy Download URL.

Deploy the Connect app and Authentication agent

  1. In the Microsoft Intune admin center, go to Apps > All apps.
  2. Select + Add on the toolbar.
  3. Select Line-of-business app from the App type dropdown, then select Next.
  4. On the App information tab, select Select app package file.
  5. Locate the Connect for Windows .msi file on your device or shared drive, then select OK.
  6. The Name, Description and App Version fields should autofill on the App information tab. Review the details.

Important

You may need to resync to ensure the device receives the latest Microsoft Intune configuration.

  3. Select Windows 10 and later from the Platform dropdown.
  4. Select Templates from the Profile type dropdown.
  5. Select Administrative templates from the Template name list, then select Create.
