School Manager Performance Metrics

This article is intended for IT Support.

Performance metrics are a set of measurable indicators that offer insights into the operating efficiency and effectiveness of a Linewize appliance.

Note

Performance metrics are only uploaded by Sphirewall, which is the process that runs only on a physical Linewize Appliance.

Accessing Performance Metrics

  1. Sign in to School Manager with an Owner/Global Administrator account.
  2. Select Debugging > Diagnostics > Performance Metrics.
Metric Description X-axis Value Y-axis Value Use Case
firewall.conntracker.icmp.size Number of ICMP connections tracked by the Linewize appliance. Date and time Number
firewall.conntracker.tcp.size Number of TCP connections tracked by the Linewize appliance. Date and time Number
firewall.conntracker.total.connections Number of ICMP/TCP/UDP connections tracked by the Linewize appliance. Date and time Number
firewall.conntracker.udp.size Number of UDP connections tracked by the Linewize appliance. Date and time Number Identifies anomalies in network traffic. For example, someone flooding it with UDP traffic to cause the Linewize appliance to go down.
firewall.fzagent.bypass.packets.persec Average number of packets bypassed per second from devices that have an agent installed. Date and time Number Identifies the number of packets the appliance is bypassing that originated from a device with a Linewize agent installed.
firewall.fzagent.bypass.bytes.persec Bytes bypassed due to an agent being installed. Date and time Bytes (B) Identifies the total amount of agent traffic (in Bytes) that the appliance has bypassed.
firewall.transfer.persec Total bytes being forwarded by the Linewize appliance. Date and time Bytes (B) Identifies the total throughput passing through the appliance.
sessiondb.size The number of user sessions stored by the Linewize appliance. Date and time Number over session lifetime.
system.cpu_usage The percentage of CPU in use by the Linewize appliance. Date and time Percentage Identifies if the Linewize appliance is under heavy load.
system.utime The amount of time that the sphirewall process has been scheduled in user mode. Date and time Clock Ticks Identifies the amount of time the Linewize appliance has been powered on
system.proc.meminfo.MemTotal The total memory on the Linewize appliance. Date and time Kilobyte (kB) Identifies the total memory of the Linewize appliance. This value differs between different models (20D, 30D, 40D).
system.proc.meminfo.MemAvailable The amount of memory available on the Linewize appliance. Date and time Kilobyte (kB) Reviewing issues with memory drops or spikes on the Linewize appliance.
firewall.arp.size Number of user devices stored by the Linewize appliance. Date and time Number
firewall.conntracker.container.size Number of connections stored in the sphirewall process container that are active or waiting to be removed. Date and time Number
firewall.conntracker.gbremovedconections Number of connections removed from tracking by the Linewize appliance. Date and time Cumulative number over process lifetime.
