Automatic updates for Standardized Testing

Linewize Filter has a special mode that stops Linewize Connect and your Linewize Filter Appliance from automatically updating. This mode is intended for those critical time periods, like exam week or standardized testing, where you don’t want to deploy updates to student devices or update your school’s filtering appliance.

Note

Changing the automatic update state will affect your appliance and laptop Connect agents.

Pausing and resuming automatic updates 

Warning

Only pause automatic updates for the duration of the standardized testing period, or you may miss critical updates.

  1. In Linewize Filter, go to Debugging > Device Updates.
  2. Clear the Enabled checkbox to pause automatic updates.
  3. Select Save.

Once your testing period ends: 

  1. Go to Debugging > Device Updates.
  2. Select the Enabled checkbox to resume automatic updates.
  3. Select Save.
