Marking Students as “Not At School” in SCP

School Community Platform (SCP) allows an administrator to mark students as “Not at school” on a given day. Students who are marked “Not at school” will not be filtered by your school’s policy on that day. Students will automatically be marked as being at “School” on the next day. If the students are still absent, you will have to mark them as “Not at school” again.

Marking a Student as “Not at School”

1. Navigate to Users > Students.

2.  Search for your student using the search bar or from the list.

3. Select the User.
4. Under the Policies section, select Not at school.

5.  A confirmation window will appear, select Yes.

6. Another window will appear to inform you that the changes were saved.

Bulk Marking Students as “Not at School”

1. Navigate to Users > Students.

2. Select Bulk Actions.
3. Select the students using the checkbox.
4. Select Not at school.

5. A confirmation window will appear, select Yes.

6. Another window will appear to inform you that the changes were completed, select OK.

Marking a Student as at “School"

1. Navigate to Users > Students.

2.  Search for your student using the search bar or from the list.

3. Select the User.
4. Under the Policies section, select School.

5. A confirmation window will appear, select Yes.

6. Another window will appear to inform you that the changes were saved.

Troubleshooting 

I can’t mark a student as “Not at School”

You need to be a SCP administrator to be able to mark a student as away. If you don’t have access, please contact Linewize Support.

The student appears as “Not at School” but they are present

This should only happen if you have marked a student as “Not at school” for the day, but then they decided to attend school anyway. You will need to search for the student in SCP and mark them as at “School”.

I can’t bulk mark students as at “School”

You don’t need to manually do this process. SCP will automatically mark all absent students on the previous day as at “School”. 

How do I mark a student as being “Not at School” for more than one day?

You will need to manually mark them as “Not at School” every day until they are back at school. There is currently no feature that allows you to mark them away for multiple days in a row.
