Qoria Filter for iOS protects iOS devices that your school’s Mobile Device Management (MDM) manages. Qoria Filter can apply your Filtering Policies to users on and off the school network, even when users connect their devices to a hotspot or an unfiltered internet connection.
Before you begin
Important
You must remove Connect for iOS if your school is upgrading to Qoria Filter.
- Your users’ iOS devices must:
- Run iOS or iPadOS 16 or newer.
- Be enrolled and supervised by your school’s MDM and organisation.
- Not have any other filtering software installed.
- Not have any other apps that use a VPN.
- Not have a global proxy configured.
- Use your MDM to unassign Connect for iOS and the configuration profile from your devices.
- Contact Linewize Support to request your configuration profile (.mobileconfig) file.
Tip
You can use Apple School Manager (ASM) or Apple Business Manager (ABM) with managed Apple IDs or federated authentication (Microsoft Entra ID or Google IDs) to remove access to consumer features in iCloud+ (for example, Private Relay) and personal functionality (for example, Apple TV and Apple Pay).
1: Deploy Qoria Filter
Follow the documentation from your MDM platform to add Qoria Filter from the Apple App Store to your app catalog and deploy it to your devices.
- Microsoft Intune
- JAMF Pro/JAMF School: Refer to your Jamf Learning Hub documentation (login required).
- Kandji
- Mosyle: Refer to your Mosyle account documentation or contact Mosyle Support.
- Cisco Meraki Systems Manager
- SimpleMDM
- FileWave
2: Deploy the configuration profile
Deploy the configuration profile from Linewize Support to your devices using your MDM’s documentation.
3: Test the Installation
Check several of your devices before distributing them to users. If any of the following tests fail, try deploying the configuration profile and app again.
If issues persist, contact Linewize Support.
Check that the device is protected
- Restart the device, then connect it to your school network or the internet.
- On the device, open Qoria Filter for iOS.
- Ensure the app shows:
- The correct Username and Linewize Filter Device ID.
- The message “This device is being protected by [Linewize Filter Device Name]”.
- Go to the device’s Settings and ensure it shows “This [iPhone] or [iPad] is supervised and managed by [Organisation name]”.
Test device filtering and reporting
- Check Website Access: On the device, go to a website (such as weather.com) to check access.
- Block the Website: Go to Linewize Filter and add a policy to block weather.com
- Confirm the Website is Blocked: Try to access weather.com on your device. Linewize Filter should block the website and show a block page or message.
- Check the Reports in Linewize Filter: Wait up to five minutes, then check Linewize Filter for blocked activity for weather.com.
Check Qoria Filter version
You can see the app version at the bottom of the app or use Linewize Filter’s Advanced Search Report to find users with a specific version of Qoria Filter for iOS.
