The User Timeline shows a user’s connections in a chosen time range, along with whether the connection was allowed or blocked. You can use the User Timeline to investigate a user’s traffic and data usage and export the data as a report.
Tip
If you want a quick overview of a user’s web activity, check the User Journey instead.
Before you begin
- You must have access to Statistics in Linewize Filter.
User Timeline Overview
Accessing User Timeline
- In Linewize Filter, go to Statistics > Active Users.

- Enter any part of a Username or Name in the Search field and press the Enter/Return key on your keyboard.
- Select Username to open the User’s Dashboard.
- Select User Timeline.
User Timeline table
To filter the data in the User Timeline table, you can:
- Change the Time Period: Choose from preset options or use a Custom Range.
- Search a Time (24-hour format), Device Name (if macOS and Windows names are available), website, or Type (Linewize Theme or Category).
- Change Filter by verdict to:
- All - Both Blocked and Allowed activity.
- Blocked - Websites that the user was prevented from accessing.
- Allowed - Websites the user could access.
You can select the arrow icons next to each column heading to sort the column from earliest to latest, from highest to lowest, or in alphabetical order.
