Troubleshoot Parental Control issues

This article is for IT Support at schools using Linewize Community.

If Parental Controls aren’t working as expected, check the following:

School Calendar is set up correctly

Check your school's calendar settings in School Manager to ensure you have configured the calendar with accurate school hours and non-school days.

Parental Controls is set up correctly

Check the Parental Control settings in the Community configuration to ensure that Parental Controls are turned on and properly configured.

Parent or guardian is not in the exclusion list

Check if the parent or guardian has been added to the exclusions list for Parental Controls

Student and their parent or guardian are linked correctly

Check that the student and their parent or guardian are linked correctly in School Manager.

Parent or guardian has not opted into Parental Controls in the app, or has opted out by mistake

Ask the parent to check their Qustodio app settings to confirm they have accepted and turned on Parental Controls. Guide them through turning on Parental Controls if needed.

Student has the correct version of Connect

Check that the student has the correct Linewize Connect extension or Connect for Windows on their device:

  • Connect for Chrome v3.2.1
  • Connect for Windows v4.2.0

Student has the Qustodio’s extension or agent installed

Check if the student has the Qustodio extension installed on their device by going into the application tray for Windows, or opening chrome://extensions in a Chrome browser for Chromebooks.
