Connect for Chrome 3.1.2 (June 2024)

Beta: 4th June | GA: 11th July 2024

  • We have improved our monitoring capabilities for Classwize. We can better identify and resolve problems causing inconsistency and instability, which means a smoother and more reliable experience.

  • We resolved an issue causing some devices to enter Fallback Mode incorrectly.

Beta: 5th April | EA: 8th April | GA: 19th April 2024

What's New

  • Websites prompting users to save before closing will no longer interfere with Rules and Pause functionality.

Connect for Chrome Education 2.3.2 (February 2024)

Beta: 12th February | EA: 12th February | GA: 20th February 2024

What's New

On Chromebooks:

  • Empty Chrome tabs now upload a static image on the student tile.
    • When classes start, any student with a Chrome tab open will immediately show activity on the student tile. The active tab may be blank, but the background tabs will also show, providing full visibility of student activity.
  • Student tiles no longer timeout, resulting in less “Waiting on Student Activity”.
    • During an active class, when students open any tab, including empty Chrome tabs (for example, chrome://newtab), the student tile will remain active and show activity, no longer timing out and reverting to “waiting on student activity.”
  • Popups within websites will now display on the student tile and in Live View.
    • If Chrome opens a pop-up that is the active tab on a user’s device, Classwize displays it on the user’s tile and Live View as a separate tab.

Connect for Chrome Education 2.3.0 (December 2023)

GA: 21 December 2023

What's New

  • We improved Classwize Focus functionality for a smoother experience.
    • When a teacher creates a Focus, the new tab opens on a student's device only if a student does not already have the tab with that Focus open.
    • When a tab matches the Focus URL or domain, the tab is left open.
    • When a Focus ends, the Focus tabs open and restore only the closed ones (those that closed when the Focus started).
    • When a Focus ends, all blocked page tabs are closed.
    • If the student closes all Focus tabs that match a Focus domain and then a teacher edits the Focus by adding or removing a URL or domain, the Focus will be updated on the student's device.
  • We fixed Safe Guard blocking, allowing access to public Wi-Fi.
  • We improved the way we store and send connections in the Connect extension.

Connect for Chrome Education 2.2.4 (November 2023)

GA: 30th November 2023

What's New

  • Connection reports now show the Serial Number of Chromebooks. You can find the Serial Numbers of Chromebooks in the Machine Name field in Advanced Connection reports.
  • We have resolved an issue of Classwize duplicating tabs upon unpausing. Pausing and unpausing students in Classwize should now function as expected, with no duplicate tabs opening on unpause.
  • Fixes have been implemented in Classwize to enhance the Focus functionality. Using Focus in Classwize will no longer result in the opening of duplicate tabs with the same URL. When you end focus, it will only reopen the initial tabs that were present when the focus started.
