We don’t close it, so the browser stays open. -

- We fixed an issue where students bypassed filtering on Chromebooks by toggling the Wi-Fi. This action forced the extension into Fallback Mode. The extension is now more resilient under these conditions.
- We resolved an issue where staff members couldn't access local resources when the extension was inactive. The extension now behaves properly when inactive and doesn't interfere with website access.

What's New
- We improved Classwize Focus functionality for a smoother experience.
- When a teacher creates a Focus, the new tab opens on a student's device only if a student does not already have the tab with that Focus open.
- When a tab matches the Focus URL or domain, the tab is left open.
- When a Focus ends, the Focus tabs open and restore only the closed ones (those that closed when the Focus started).
- When a Focus ends, all blocked page tabs are closed.
- If the student closes all Focus tabs that match a Focus domain and then a teacher edits the Focus by adding or removing a URL or domain, the Focus will be updated on the student's device.
- We fixed Safe Guard blocking, allowing access to public Wi-Fi.
- We improved the way we store and send connections in the Connect extension.

What's New
- Connection reports now show the Serial Number of Chromebooks. You can find the Serial Numbers of Chromebooks in the Machine Name field in Advanced Connection reports.
- We have resolved an issue of Classwize duplicating tabs upon unpausing. Pausing and unpausing students in Classwize should now function as expected, with no duplicate tabs opening on unpause.
- Fixes have been implemented in Classwize to enhance the Focus functionality. Using Focus in Classwize will no longer result in the opening of duplicate tabs with the same URL. When you end focus, it will only reopen the initial tabs that were present when the focus started.

Connect for Chrome Education 2.1.0 (September 2022)
What's New
- Stop Chromebook users signing into non-School Google accounts
- Our new safety feature allows schools to stop users from signing into non-school Google accounts and domains, including users’ personal Gmail accounts.
- IT administrators can create a list of official domains of the school, district, state, or approved providers, and any accounts that do not match these domains cannot log in. Support is coming for Windows and Mac.
- Improved performance and reduced CPU use by the extension
- We’ve optimized the way the Connect Chrome extension gets its filtering policy from the cloud. This resulted in faster page load times and reduction in CPU use when the policy is processed.
- Support for Smoothwall
- We’re extending our class management support to Smoothwall for our users in the UK.
