Enabling Manifest V2 Extension Availability for Connect for Chrome

This article discusses how to turn on Manifest v2 extension availability within the Google Admin console, which is crucial to ensuring uninterrupted functionality of the Connect for Chrome extension beyond June 2024.

Enable Manifest V2 Extension Availability

  1. Sign in to admin.google.com with your school’s Google Super Administrator account.
  2. Go to Devices > Chrome > Settings > Users & browser settings.
  3. Select your top-level Organizational Unit (OU).

  4. Select the policy Manifest V2 extension availability.

  5. Select Enable manifest V2 extensions from the default browser behavior dropdown.

  6. Select Save.
