Activity and Compliance Report in School Manager

This article is for IT Support and Filtering Administrators.

Note

Our Activity and Compliance Report is an optional School Manager feature. Contact your Linewize Success or Account Manager to access the Report.

School Manager’s Activity and Compliance Report serves as a tool primarily designed to meet the needs of schools for compliance reporting. The report allows you to explore student trends, analysing blocked versus allowed traffic and signatures and usage patterns by time of day.

Before you start

To use the Activity and Compliance Report, you must have:

  1. Configured an Authentication Service in School Manager.
  2. Configured Users and Groups in School Manager.
  3. Created Content Filtering Policies that block and allow themes and categories.
  4. Either the Filtering/Reporting Administrator or Owner/Global Administrator user role.

You should review your Calendar settings to see if any time periods are excluded from reporting.

Accessing the Activity and Compliance Report

  1. In School Manager, go to Reports > Activity and Compliance.
  2. Select From Date
Enter a new start and end date, or select from the preset values.

    Important

Although there is no limit on the date filter, we recommend selecting a period of less than three months due to the high volume of data that needs to be processed. Select a shorter date range if the Activity and Compliance Report displays an error message.

  3. Select Group > any value
Enter the name of the group whose report you want to access.

    Note

Groups in the Activity and Compliance Report are synced only once every 24 hours. Any changes to group names will be reflected in the next sync, displaying the latest name.

  4. Select the Load icon.
